The Sunderland Overture Nil desperandum auspice deo is the first movement of 'A Sunderland Symphony’ - it may be performed alone as presented here, or followed by the four other movements of the symphony. The second movement is text from a Sunderland fish lass. The third movement is a choral setting of Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. The work concludes with a setting of Bede’s Death poem as well as the Latin Gloria and there is an optional part for the eight bell range present in Holy Trinity Church, Old Sunderland.
