'La Mourisque' basse-danse: perhaps the most famous dance from one of the few remaining Renaissance collections - Danserye by the Low Countries music publisher Tielman Susato. The piece is a jubilant ceremonial fanfare for brass quartet. The melodic parts - for 3 trumpets and trombone - are a direct transposition of the original, with the bass-line transposed up an octave for tenor trombone. Optional percussion parts are arranged for timpani, and tambourine. The repeats of the sections and the short introduction and coda are also arranged.
