This is a brand new collection of duets arranged by Dave McKeown, a fully qualified and highly experienced teacher and performer. The standard is around grade 5 to 7. The pieces have all specially been arranged for this collection some for the very first time.
- Meine Seele hort im Sehen by Handel is a beautiful but little-heard devotional aria written for soprano, oboe and harpsichord.
- Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring, is the famous and much-loved chorale from Bachs Cantata 147.
- Telemanns First Canonic Sonata is one of a popular set of six published in 1738, for any combination of instruments. This is the Third Movemnt, full of life and momentum.
- The Air from Couperins Trezieme Concert was published in 1724 as part of a cycle of concerts under the title Les Gouts Reunis.
- This exciting Allegretto from the Italian Barbellas Sonata for Two Mandolins, is a little known piece for an instrument that never gained popularity outside the Neapolitan tradition until Bluegrass came along!.
- Bachs 13th Invention comes from the famous set of fifteen two part inventions, not published in his lifetime, written for his keyboard students.
- This Chaconne comes from the Semi-Opera, The Fairy Queen. First performed in 1692, it was fashionable at that time to adapt Shakespeares plays into all singing and dancing musical variety shows. Midsummer Nights Dream was the source material here for Purcells masterpiece.
- This joyous Badinage from Leclairs Deuxieme Recreation de Musique is part of a suite written to provide entertainment for the court of Louis XV.
