Tim Rushworth
Tim Rushworth is a guitarist who plays solo Classical and Flamenco guitar as well as having a busy career in teaching, conducting and arranging music. His solo performances are often fully booked and very popular. Tim took up playing classical guitar in 1972 and has been playing for 45 years. He studied with teachers Sue Court and Ray Burley and passed his grade 8 exam in 1984. More recently, Tim has studied with Guitarist / Composer Vincent Lindsey-Clark. He has taken part in master-classes with John Mills, David Russell, Jorge Morel, Carlos Bonell, Jose Gallardo del Rey and Gary Ryan. Tim has performed in various solo and ensemble groups and alongside a regular duo partner. He has also played in a jazz band and provided accompaniment for a flamenco dance class. In July 2008, Tim achieved a Diploma in guitar teaching from the ABRSM. His students have had a 100% pass rate in grade examinations. Tim has been the ensemble director for Southampton Classical Guitar Society for a number of years and also leads a similar ensemble of guitarists called RAGG, who meet at Redlynch Village Hall. He was also the founder and leader of the Redlynch Youth Guitar Orchestra, for young guitarists. Tim plays a classical guitar made by the English luthier Stuart Christie and a flamenco guitar by Vicente Sanchis.
