Robin Lamott
I was born on the 1st, April 1960 in Zagreb, Croatia. I didn't come from a musical family but had an interest in music from the age of 5 and I liked to listen to music and to sing the songs I heard on the radio. In 1969 my family immigrated to Sydney, Australia. My father suggested that I should learn the piano and in 1972, I started piano and theory lessons at "Gallaghers School of Music" where I studied there for 5 years. In 1979 I began to have an interest in composing and continued further study under the instruction of Australian composer Edwin Carr at the Sydney Conservatory.
I have composed over a hundred short pieces for ballet which were released on cassette and used by many ballet and dance schools throughout Europe and Australia in the late eighties. Mostly though I like to compose for solo piano and many of my pieces have gained popularity with piano students and used as exam pieces.
I now live in Croatia and work as a piano tuner and continue to compose piano music in my spare time.
