David A'Bear

Born in 1952 in Kingston upon Thames, I won a singing scholarship to the City of London School for Boys as a chorister at HM Chapel Royal, St James' Palace, 1962-1966. I moved with my family to the Isle of Wight in 1985 as a teacher of Mathematics at Ryde School - my fourth teaching post. My musical interests remain very broad, but classical composition has been a pastime which has grown over the last two decades and now occupies most of my spare time. I enter works in the IW Musical Competition Festival regularly, and am a member of the Portsmouth & District Composers' Alliance.
