Dan Cutchen is adjunct professor of music theory and composition at Dallas Baptist University where he teaches various music theory courses and applied composition. He has been producing full-scale and demo music projects for both secular and sacred musicians since 1984.
Dan has been a full-time composer/musician since 1993. He has written for concert band, wind ensemble, string quartet, choir, jazz band, studio charts and other small and large-scale music productions. Mr. Cutchen is active as competition adjudicator and workshop leader in the areas of music education and Christian education. He is also in demand in the Family Entertainment industry as an entertainer, seminar instructor, and composer/arranger.
Mr. Cutchen holds the B.A. in Music Theory and Composition from Asbury College (KY) where he studied composition with James Curnow. He holds the M.M. in Theory and Composition from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida where he studied composition under Dennis Kam and conducting under Lee Kjelson. In addition to teaching, he is currently president of Future Hope Ministries, a non-profit itinerant music and education ministry based in Dallas, TX.
