Connie Jahrmarkt

HI, I'm Connie Jahrmarkt, used to be Clemons. I direct 2 student orchestras at the PLACe Music Academy in Phoenix, Az. I've directed church choirs and taught violin for thirty years in various public schools in OH and in the Prep Department at the U. of Cincinnati, after graduating from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH. Ten years into my teaching career I obtained a Master of Mus. Ed. from U of Wisconsin, at Stevens Point. My band, Europa, plays the musics of Hungary, Romania, the Gypsies, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey…with occasional dabblings in other South Slavic musics and sometimes that of Ireland. I have arranged much ethnic music for my student string orchestras. I have taught string workshops, both Suzuki and Traditional styles of teaching. For the past 10 years I have served as Music Director for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix, where I direct the Congregation Choir and Family Choirs. I also provide service music and teach workshops on reading music, and lead congregational singing on Sunday mornings.
