I have been playing the piano since the age of 10 and was able to memorize chords, passages and even entire pieces with little effort, playing by ear. I took piano lessons for 5 years and was able to sit the Royal Schools of Music Examinations from England for grades 1 - 6 in both theory and practical. I have been an organist, pianist, and accompanist for Ebenezer Methodist Church since the age of 15 and have been able to play and be exposed to a wide variety of music along the way. In the last few years, have made attempts at choral work. I have never been to college to formally study music and have no degrees in it. However, because of the talents which I have been blessed with so much of it comes naturally. Often, I will just be sitting down, watching something or listing to a song and a tune would pop into my head. In a few minutes, its on paper. I have had opportunities to listen to professional piansts I am influenced by professional musicians such as Mark Hayes and Craig Curry. Over the last few years I have had the opportunity to meet Benjamin Harlan, Craig Curry, Mack Wilberg and Mark Hayes. I have also attended a composers workshop in Decatur, Georgia in June 2007 where Joseph Martin, J. Paul Williams, Robert Sterling and Brant Adams conducted workshops in music and lyrics. This has been a life changing moment in my music writing. Now that I have this outlet, I am more encouraged to submit songs, works, pieces etc for you to enjoy. I hope and trust that my pieces can be an inspiration and a blessing to someone somewhere somehow. CH
