Being the product of mainstream education, when I left school in 1965 my musical education was nil. I studied rudiments and theory at an evening class which soon developed into an unofficial class studying harmony. I have since studied music with the Open University, and composition with the Open Collage of the Arts, something I would recommend to anyone. A few years ago I took up the flute and now play first flute with the Bathgate Regal Wind Band.
Since the early years the guitar has always been my great love, inspired by Williams and Bream as so many of my generation were.
I believe in keeping things simple and my compositions have always reflected my ability as an instrumentalist.
I am purely an amateur musician and have no great ambitions as a composer. Writing music gives me a lot of pleasure, it's such great fun!
