Lowell Prescott
Lowell (Rick) Prescott began composing at age 7 in 1970, and has a catalog of some 600 original works ranging from songs for solo voice, to pieces for small instrumental or vocal ensembles, to musical theater, to large choral and instrumental works. He studied choral music at the University of Minnesota while obtaining a degree in Philosophy, and has since spent many years composing, conducting and performing in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
While a member of the National Lutheran Choir, he produced many CDs and programs for public radio, designed several major choral events, and studied composition and conducting with Dr. Larry L. Fleming. He has spent many years leading choral programs at churches, and currently conducts an elite ensemble of women known as Woven Voices (wovenvoicesmn.org).
He has participated as a composer in the Faith Partners program through the American Composers Forum, and has been nominated for a Minnesota Music Award for his studio work. He has had an arrangement featured by the Minnesota Association of Songwriters, and his original works have been heard locally at Orchestra Hall, the Basilica of St. Mary, the Cathedral of St. Paul, Central Lutheran Church, and many other local churches.
