Duncan Faulkner

I was born and educated in Northampton and my earliest musical experiences were as a chorister in the local parish church choir. This was soon followed by piano lessons and then organ lessons with Graham Mayo.
My studies continued at The Royal School of Church Music with Timothy Farrell and Michael Fleming, then The Royal College of Music with Richard Latham, Herbert Howells and Oliver Davies and was awarded the Walford Davies Organ Prize.
I trained as a music teacher and worked in various secondary schools for thirty years, the last twenty years as Head of Department. I also taught music theory, musicianship, harmony and composition at a specialist music school and directed numerous amateur concerts and musical productions. I now work as a freelance organist, accompanist and composer and I am Director of Music at a church in South West London.
