How to get more from your scores
Top tips from the Score Exchange team to help you sell more of your scores!
Get reviews of your music
Reviews are more important than ever to customers shopping online. Every score on Score Exchange features a reviews section so it would be a good idea to try and encourage any past or current customers to leave a review. You can also add any reviews you already have yourself.
It's also a good idea to reply to your reviews when they are submitted. Just visit the "My Reviews" page to add replies.
To add a review just click "Add a new review of this score" on any of your score pages.
Fill in your programme notes
Try to add as much detail as you can to the "programme note" section of your score. A detailed programme note might include information about the composer, arranger, background of the composition, details of instrumentation etc. Adding a detailed programme note can help your score achieve higher positions in google search rankings.
To add a programme note:
Visit the "My scores" page
Click "Edit" to the right of your score
Click "Score details"
-
Scroll down the page until you see the "programme note" section

Make sure your parts are correct
One of the most common complaints we receive at Score Exchange is incorrect parts. There’s nothing worse for a customer than downloading a score and parts for a performance only to find parts missing or incorrectly labelled.
Please check that your parts have been uploaded and listed correctly.
If your composition or arrangement is for more than one performer then it could be a great idea to create some parts if you haven’t already.
If you have no instrumental parts you should still specify which instruments are in the score.
To add or edit parts:
Visit the "My scores" page
Click "Edit" to the right of your score
-
Click "Instruments"
-
Click "Add a new part" to upload a new part
This page also allows you to edit parts and add information about instruments used.

Check your formatting
It's a good idea to check the formatting and layout on your scores. The best way to do this is to download the customer preview PDF of your score & parts, then go through your music to make sure everything is clear and easy to read. A common complaint from customers is text (lyrics, directions or security footers) being placed on top of notes.

Visit the "My scores" page
Click "Edit" to the right of your score
Click "Download customer preview"
Create a great profile page
The profile page is your home page on Score Exchange. This is where customers go to find out more about you and your music. Try to fill in as much detail about yourself and your work as possible.
It’s all a good idea to add a high quality photo (or logo image) of yourself or your company.
