Louis Spohr (1784-1859) was a German composer, violinist, conductor and teacher. He composed Symphonies, Violin Concertos, and chamber music; Duets for Violins, String Quartets/Quintets/Sextets, Piano Trios, and Nonets. He is famous as the inventor of violin chinrest. The 'Adagio' is the second movement of Three Duets for two Violins Op.39 No.1 composed by Louis Spohr (1784-1859). It is attractive and dramatic piece, but requires relatively high technique.
