Simply beautiful, beautifully simple….that perfectly describes this haunting harp solo "Were You There?", an early American spiritual about the crucifixion of Christ. The opening verse soars melodically, with a very sparse LH accompaniment. The second verse builds in complexity, using triads in different positions, and graceful components that include 1-5-8-9-10 patterns, crossings, full rolled chords, and dynamic and tempo variations. Key of C, no accidentals. Requires a full range lever harp, or any pedal harp. Stunning in a room with a long reverb, this arrangement should come with a hanky–it's that moving. By Lyrica Press.
