Inspired by Maurice Sendak's classic children's book "Where The Wild Thins Are", this is a piano version of the suite of eight pieces originally for wind quintet. I hope this might be a more convenient format for playing to young children while a second performer reads the words. However, I am careful not to publish any of Mr Sendak's original work as the rights are owned by Universal films. If you are more successful than I was in trying to get a reply from Universal and you get permission for a performance - especially with costumes - please let me know! It could be great fun! The original story ends quietly but section 8 ("Wild Thing Forever") is an original idea which allows all the Wild Things to parade again in their costumes. Get them stompin' ! NMB.
