This is the "Full Score" version of my setting of the carol,
"Silent Night" / "Stille Nacht".
Written with a Christmas Eve Midnight Mass in mind.
This descant requires an ultra-light and lyrical voice.
The piece should be approached with wanting an "echo", or
a "bell - like" quality from the soloist.
One could, if one wishes, have the soloist away from the
choristers. Perhaps in an adjoining room to the choir.
The descant can be used with any of the verses, however,if you are not reharmonizing the third verse, I would suggest that you place it there.
I have included the familiar German text in this setting as well. It is not a "Verse 4" pre se, however, feel free to use it that way, or any other way.
I do hope that you will find this one to be a real treat for
your congregations.
