James Montgomery (1771-1854) wrote 400 hymns during his career. This work, Devotional #2 is my setting of one verse of his hymn, "God is my strong salvation" written in 1822 and based on Psalm 27.
The music is written on one staff, coined "stafflet edition" (or stafflet). It is designed to be played with minimum time invested for maximum enjoyment.
