I admire the pride and belief the American people have in their history and culture, and I would like to offer this piece as a friendly tribute from Britain to America, at a time when there is far too much kneejerk anti-Americanism around. The tunes included are: The Star-spangled Banner, Camptown Races, Dixie, Marching through Georgia, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Deep River, Home on the Range, Yellow Rose of Texas, The Stars and Stripes for Ever, America the Beautiful, and a reprise of The Star-spangled Banner. I hope the piece may be suitable for occasions like the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, etc. - specially if people sing along!
