An opening phrase of the first movement of this string quartet reminds one of greeting, which gives the music a nickname "How Do You Do." ’Largo e cantabile’ is an especially beautiful part written in G-minor. First Violin performs the main melody consistently, and accompanying part is assigned to Piano. Piano part is carefully arranged to be easy and natural, although it sticks closely to the original music. It is a masterpiece worth adopted for a solo performance.
