He composed Symphonies, Violin Concertos, and chamber music; Duets for Violins, String Quartets/Quintets/Sextets, Piano Trios, and Nonets. He is famous as the inventor of violin chinrest. The 'Adagio' is the second movement of Three Duets Op.39 No.1 by Louis Spohr (1784-1859) originally written for two Violins. It is attractive and dramatic piece, but requires relatively high technique.
