Mike Klinger
Mike Klinger is the owner and founder of The Synthesis Midi Workshop located in Carson, WA and home of the Mike Klinger Music Technology Retreat which is an educational facility designed specifically to train music teachers in music technology related offerings.
Mike Klinger is a graduate of North Texas State University with a B.M. and M.M degrees in Music Composition/Theory. From 1976-1980 he was on the teaching staff at Mt. Hood Community College. Since then he has spent his time assisting fellow teachers in learning technology in music through various workshops all over the world. To date over 5000 music educators in have taken his classes. He is an adjunct professor at Indiana University Purdue, Seattle Pacific University, Mt. Hood Community College and Portland State University. He has over 38 years experience in synthesizers, computers, and midi. He is an active member of MENC, WMEA, NAMM, ATMI organizations and is a guest speaker in music technology related subjects at several MENC related conferences. He has acted as chairperson for Grammy in the Schools/Oregon program sponsored by The National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS). As a professional jazz pianist and keyboardist, Mike Klinger has 4 albums to his credit from (1980-1997) demonstrating his techniques in funk and fusion, straight ahead jazz quintet to big band.
As a composer, Mike Klinger loves to write for Big Band and Jazz quartet/quintet.
