I studied piano from an early age and accompanied choirs from the age of 14. Having gained Associate and Licentiate diplomas with the London College of Music I began teaching and writing music. As accompanist I have taken part in many festivals, competitions and concert tours. In the past I have played for theatre groups and their productions. In 2003 my composition, "The Hedgehog Song" for four part male choir, was the winning entry in the composers' competition and was performed by the English Concert Singers as part of the Gala concert during the International Male Voice Choral Festival. A new song for TTBB called "The Glade" has won 2nd prize in the 2005 International Male Voice Choral Festival competition and another called "S'funny" has been Highly Commended. A third attempt has gained 3rd prize in the 2007 composers' competition and it is called "In search of whales". Several of my choral pieces have been performed namely; "Trust not to Joy", "I saw three ships", "Star of stars", "Cornwall (my anthem)", and "The Web" which will be premiered by the choirs from Victoria BC and Nanaimo under the direction of Mr Wade Noble. In Autumn 2007 I undertook a 3 week tour of Singapore and New Zealand as accompanist and soloist to the Trelawny Male choir from Cornwall. In July 2008 I was awarded first prize once more for my TTBB song entry entitled "Travel in Style", written in March 2008, and performed in Cornwall in July 2008. The Colne valley Male Voice Choir also performed this winning song at the Gala concert at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro in May 2009. The entry "Oh Puss Number One" for TTBB gained a special commendation at the 2011 International Choral Festival being performed at its Gala Concert. I accompanied the massed Cornish choirs at the Royal Albert Hall in November 2013 and at the Plymouth Pavillion in 2014 as well as touring as accompanist to the Trelawny choir to Eastern Canada in 2015.
