Diego Morales
Born in Puerto La Cruz in 1996. From very early age he begins his musical studies at the local music school. In 2011 won the second prize in the International Composition Competition “Klang der Welt” organized by the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In 2013 he began to study in UNEARTE-Caracas, where he studied, among other things, orchestral and choral conducting and in 2018 he graduated with a Bachelor in Music Composition In 2016 participated in the “XIX Latin American Contemporary Music Festival” where his work Incipit for alto saxophone and piano was premiered. In 2017 was commissioned to write a work for clarinet trio. In 2018 he finished his thesis about the orchestration of Modesta Bor orchestral music and, in the same year, participates in the “XX Latin American Contemporary Music Festival” where his work Balbulus I for piano solo was premiered. Currently teaches harmony and counterpoint at the “Simón Bolívar Conservatoire” and at the Arts University in Caracas, Venezuela. Also is enrolled in the Music composition master degree at the “Simón Bolívar University”. He is writing two harmony books to be finished in 2021.
