What am I allowed to upload to ScoreExchange.com?

We only accept:

  • music composed entirely by you; or
  • out-of-copyright music arranged by you; or
  • music that you have written permission from the copyright holder to publish here. You must be able to produce the written permission on request.

In addition, any lyrics in your score must be written by you, be out of copyright, or you must have written permission from the copyright holder.

If you have permission from the copyright holder to publish a score, you should indicate this in a copyright notice on the front page of your score, and also reference it in your score’s programme note.

Ultimately, you are responsible for ensuring that you are the sole copyright owner of the music you submit (or have permission to use copyright material). You will be held liable in the event of breach of copyright.

N.B. This is provided for general information only and not as legal advice. If in doubt, seek professional legal advice.
