"SassaQuokka (Bear)" is the third solo classical guitar piece in the "Sasquatch" series, NOT to be confused with any of my other sinister series, that pay tribute to Fiends (not friends) and other horrible beasts of the night and to the marvelous influences, much to many's dismay and chagrin, they have had on my person and my composing.
The Sasquatch is a stupid beast fabricated and perpetuated by stupid people. The music is entirely fitting.
The excerpt begins at m. 1, but skips the repeat and proceeds to the end. The lower voice is in 3/4 while the upper voice is in 6/8 and the melody (middle voice), entering at m. 2, is also in 3/4.
Though the tonal center is E throughout, it's a slinky center moving from Ionian to Lydian, and even to E Harmonic Major.
The "Sasquatch" series has little in common thematically with the other series yet the music creates a similar sinister and haunting aura. I sincerely hope that you enjoy this piece as well as the other "Sasquatch" pieces.
