I am a church musician and composer involved with music in two parishes here in Exeter (UK), as well as leading Adoramus - a project begun some years ago in the Exeter Diocese to promote a contemplative style of music making in worship, using especially the music of the ecumenical Taize Community in France. Much of my own material adopts the Taize approach, in that I use traditional liturgical forms, and the music is simple and capable of being readily picked up by a congregation.
As well as music for worship, I have written the music for Bethlehem! a Christmas musical for schools and communities, first performed in 2009. The lyrics are by Exeter-based poet Richard Skinner. Please visit http://www.bethlehem-musical.co.uk
I have also written a sequence of short choral pieces, setting poems by Richard Skinner based on the writings of the 14th century English mystic, Julian of Norwich. These were given their first public performance in 2012, by the Exeter Chamber Choir.
Two CDs of my music are available. For more information, please visit my personal website: http://nigelcwalsh.com
I am pleased to be hosting here a number of scores by my friend and mentor Andrew Daldorph - please use this site (see Store Catalogue) to purchase any of Andrew's scores. For more information, follow the link below to view his personal site.
