Sonata No.1 in B-flat major, composed in the year 2022, brings the 19th century classical music idioms into the 21st century. Our current audiences will find the opening Allegro melodies reminiscent of Schubert and Beethoven.
The second movement Andante is a romantic Broadway-show style melancholy ‘love song.’
The third movement Allegro opens with a lively Brahmsian folk dance which segues into a ‘kitty Kat’ meow motif followed by an Irish-style gigue with a return of the Brahms-like lively folk dance.
