I have always enjoyed the light, playful quality of the scherzo in classical music, both old and new. My �Scherzo� takes a romp through five different minor keys. Rather than the usual ABA form, this piece travels through various textures, from an opening melody (which is repeated in inverted form) to both homophonic and polyphonic sections. The pedal part supports the driving rhythm, now and then stealing the show with brisk solos.
