'Pook'. An odd title but my first attempt at out and out composition. I'm currently part of a words and music project on the Isle of Arran. Though no lyrics are used, one of the locals has childhood reminiscences of Pook… 'Had very bent legs, got p*ed regularly and did the most wonderful bird impersonations.'

An odd choice of ensemble you might think, but being a brass player, I immediately hit upon the idea of brass representing the bent legs and the drunkenness with the flute depicting the bird impersonations as well as a melody midway through, depicting a happy-go-lucky drunk without a care in the world, whilst the muted brass are the passers by having a good old chuckle at his antics. It was composed with local musicians in mind. It's a freebie, so email me if you wish parts and/or alternate parts for the brass. Constructive reviews most welcome, as ever.

Please inform me of any performances.
