This is one of my more jazzy pieces. I wrote the bass part to play in forte. I did this more to emphasize the fact that I didn't want the other instruments to complete drown out the bass's sound. The key to this piece is to keep the sound cool and somewhat quiet. Think Miles Davis or Bill Evans.
One could replace the tambourine part by using brushes on a snare drum instead.
