Gotta Cha Cha is a great first year Latin chart for any middle school or high school jazz bands. The chart is a Cha Cha Cha, often used in traditional Latin and Latin Rock genres. The piano part has been simplified with a 3-part voicing option, making it more attainable for beginner jazz pianists.
The solo part is simply a ii V7 that students can improvise using the C dorian minor scale or C minor pentatonic scales/minor blues scale. After the solo section, the song briefly switches into a Mambo feel, where the piano plays a simple montuno, before switching back to the Cha Cha Cha on the D.S.
