This piece is written for a six hole or five hole Native American flute. It is written using a tablature system developed by the renowned native flutist R. Carlos Nakai. I have given you the ability to transpose this score should you wish to put it in a comfortable key for a standard silver flute.
One of my hobbies is collecting and playing native flutes. I wrote this piece for my father-in-law who is a fan of Native American music.
In performance if you wanted to add a second percussion part(a hand or frame drum would work) simply have the percussionist beat eighth-notes throughout the entire piece. Use of a native rattle would be quite effective as well.
