Wagner, Oskar
Born in 1923, he passed away in 1988. Due to polio, he was severely disabled his entire life. He studied at the conservatory in Dresden. In Fürth, Bavaria, he was a clarinetist at the music theater.
After World War II, he started a new career. In Bad Soden, not far from Frankfurt am Main, he worked for more than three decades as a music teacher for various woodwind instruments. Here, he founded the “Blockflötenkreis Bad Soden Am Taunus” and composed for this recorder ensemble. His “A Little Christmas Music” consists of 6 short pieces. At the premiere, a Bible verse was read before each piece:

2. Search for Shelter Luke 2:6-7
3. Shepherds' Music I Luke 2:8-14
4. Shepherds' Music II Luke 2:15-16
5. Legend Matthew 2:1-2
6. The Three Wise Men Luke 2:2-20
