"Bounce" was written as the result of a challenge given by a friend of mine who is an intermediate cellist. I admitted that I didn't have a clue how to write music for the cello, so he instructed me to compose a few bars and he'd pick out the errors. Typically, I got carried away, and here's the result ;)
The title comes from the generally bouncy beat and melody of the piece, the jig-like section, and the rising and falling arpeggios of the accompaniement.
Criticism from cellists is appreciated…
N.B. I don't have a clue what grade of cello this is, so the grade rating is judged by the piano, which I figure is either a hard Grade 3, or an easy Grade 4.
