You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. This is primarily a meditative piece, so take your time with the tempo and use a generous rubato, really settling down into the parts which elicit the most emotion, especially where the text is repeated and there is a clear tension/release. M. 24, should create an echo or a long reverberation. M. 28 should erupt at the name of Jesus; take care here that the intonation does not sour as the volume decreases. M. 42 should be sung as dolce as possible to invite the listeners back into intimacy. M. 50 to the end should fade gradually to invoke a picture of leaving, as though one is walking away "in hora mortis nostrae" with the Blessed Virgin Mother.
