This is a Jazz variation on a Bach Minuet. It commemorates the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and Mstislav (Slava) Rostropovich’s visit to play Bach cello solos in the days immediately after the event. The piece is arranged for a school jazz group, which has an unorthodox instrumentation. In the section for solos, a tenor sax solo has been notated.
